MORPHOSIS

Design by Christophe Gautrand

MORPHOSIS evokes movement and continuous transformation. Conceived as architecture on a domestic scale, this bookcase explores the notions of life, change, and transcendence.
Its simple, clear structure is brought to life by a pleated Honey Comb honeycomb paper material that fills the voids, filters light, and creates a perceptible depth. It evokes at once textile, membrane, skin—or even
—the strata of the earth.
More than just a piece of furniture, it becomes a hybrid form, straddling the line between furniture, sculpture, and a living organism. It explores the potential of paper as a structural and sensitive material, embracing a radical approach: that of working with a lightweight, transformed, almost fragile material to produce a strong and enduring presence.

Materials: honeycomb paper, cardboard tubes, honeycomb cardboard panels, wooden dowels, LEDs.
